The CEO and director of CTS, which he founded in 2006 as a certified PMP, Stan has exceptional project management experience. Having completed a Ph.D., in pathology long before embarking on a career in IT, he has strong interests in health care and higher education. Stan is an innovative thinker, matching technology to client needs to ensure requirements are met within budget, on time, and in many cases exceeding expectations. Served as the Vancouver Regional Lead with the Physician Technology Information Office (PITO). a division of the BCMA

Audits – Privacy and IT Data Security

Performed major on-site audits on companies required to meet province-wide privacy and data security health authority requirements to protect patient information.

Performed a privacy and security audit for a major healthcare professional College charged with handling confidential legal and healthcare information on behalf of patients and their members in BC

Privacy and Data Security audits are performed using a unique tool developed by him in collaboration with one of the leading healthcare privacy experts in British Columbia. It provides a systematic, but easy to understand and informative analysis of an organization’s privacy and security profile, based on applicable privacy legislation and ISO 27002:2013 standards.

Performed a comprehensive audit of an IT department for a growing financial management company with twelve branch offices across western Canada.

Project Management – Healthcare

Introduced, through managing a pilot, then fully implemented a unique Electronic Medical Record (EMR) tool that allows real-time sharing of accurate health care information across multiple locations. It synchronizes health care record views from consenting patients between primary care family practice clinics and the team of allied health providers supporting the care of those patients.

Project Management – Higher Education

Served as the project manager for a multi-University eduroam project to authenticate users on wireless networks at participating sites across BC. The project, sponsored by BCNET, has since expanded to link higher educational institutions across Canada to participating universities around the world.

Project planning and resource coordination for a PeopleSoft implementation project at a mid-Western US university, which involved tracking over three thousand project tasks.

Business Analysis – Healthcare

Served as technical adviser for the provincial Telestroke project, designed to make possible remote diagnosis and bedside treatment of stroke patients in regional hospitals. This successful project linked two regional hospital emergency wards to neurologists located in Vancouver, using advanced video conference and imaging technology.

Developed a multi-university business plan for disaster recovery.of core administrative systems, based on collaborative efforts of six major universities and institutions across BC.

Business analysis – RFP processes

Performed business requirements analysis, RFP selection and coordinated development of an iMIS business system for a professional association in BC.

Prior to creating his own consulting firm, Stan served as the Director, IT Planning and Development and IT Strategic Initiatives Lead for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia.

Stan has a strong background in health care and higher education. Prior to undertaking his Ph.D in pathology, he worked as a clinical medical laboratory technologist in several tertiary care hospitals.

He is currently a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is engaged in teaching and course development for Risk Management courses offered through the Canadian West Coast PMI chapter. He has also been an active participant on Identity Management and Collaborative Technology Working Groups for BCNET.

An avid long distance cyclist, Stan raised funds for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by cycling 1200 kilometers twice from Vancouver to Banff. Stan regularly joins friends in Colorado to cycle in “Ride the Rockies”, a spectacular six-day, 600 km tour, a tour he has done five times in recent years.
