Clinic and Business Privacy Program

A Privacy Program is essential to help ensure your organization or clinic is compliant

Privacy legislation applies to all organizations, as long as you are collecting, using, or disclosing personal information. As far as the law is concerned, the size of your business doesn’t matter. However, compliance generally comes at a price. And often, this price is beyond the capabilities of most small to medium size businesses, including health care clinics.

We offer a Privacy Program based on the legislative requirements designed for you.

We can also give advice and resources to help develop and implement your fully compliant privacy program, without having to hire a high priced consulting firm or dedicated Privacy Officer.

How do we do this?

We begin with a confidential high-level assessment. It is essential that you know your clinic’s ‘current state’ before knowing what to do next. We help by reviewing clinic policies, and interviewing key staff in order to get to know more about you and understand what your privacy needs are in order to comply with appropriate legislation. Not all clinics are the same. We help you to avoid pitfalls that could lead to problems later.

Where there might be gaps, we can assist in creating a plan. Ultimately you will have a road map that your clinic can use in order to work towards full compliance with legislation. And, where necessary, we can assist you with policies, procedures, and training from our extensive library, and customize them to meet your clinic’s very specific needs.

No report will be useful to you unless it can be put into action. We will support you to ensure whatever approvals that might be required are done, educate your clinical staff and management as required, and provide ongoing support, including

  • an annual review of your privacy program and an annual update to your policies, procedures, and documentation
  • assess the impact on privacy for any new or changed system you might want to introduce to your clinic that handles patient information
  • provide answers to any questions or issues you might concerning privacy
  • and provide active assistance in case you encounter a privacy breach investigation;

Assess… Assist…. Act.
